I used to think Tangling Grasp would be great to take.....we can all use the xtra chance to hit and do some more dmg right??
But it seems to me like I'm actually doing less dmg with it.....because I lose a lot of AP with messages like "target breaks free of your grasp" or whatever.....
whereas before I was only subject to the 50% miss or hit possibility...i may be wrong, but lately i feel like ive been doing less ass kicking with it

Its 50 / 50. With Tangling Grasp. Its 60 / 40 when you have grip. When you lose your grip..its back to 50 / 50. Then you gain your grip..it goes back to 60 / 40. So..overall..i would still say its a useful skill to have.

One thing worth nothing is that tangling grasp decreases your chances of getting a successful bite attack.
So if you're trying to infect someone, just bite them, don't grab hold of them first.

GK my experience is that TG helps with bite. Also wiki shows it does help also. wiki.urbandead.com/index.php/Zombie_skillsWhy do you say it hurts. I would say it gives you +10% or 40% chance to hit once you have them grasped. Now you have to grab them first. THus, the numbers per AP have to take into account claw attacks as well WretchX

I'm saying it based on some (more recent) data that armareum collected. You'd have to ask him about it.

The "You lose your grip on them" would be "You miss" without the grasp. It isn't any "extra" thing that wastes AP.
Also, the reason behind tangling grasp not being good for infection is because it takes into account the 50/50 chance to grasp in the first place. If the ONLY thing you are trying to do is infect a brain (such as when you break in and see 10 brains inside, none infected), it's better (mathematically) to simply bite at them, rather than attempt to grasp them first.
Now, if you are planning on infecting *and* trying to go for the kill via claw attacks, it is usually better to try to hit first - of course, realizing that it is "easier" to lose your grasp when you miss by biting.

I'm saying it based on some (more recent) data that armareum collected. You'd have to ask him about it. It's not that it makes it harder to hit, just that it's a waste if you're going for the infect because the bonus is basically removed with the claw attack, the AP you'd save you're using to increase accuracy. Makes it take 4AP instead of 3AP, or something like that.
