So this move activates when you sucessfully attack someone with your claws. It is supposed to deal %10 more base damage.
However, there is only 3 damage per attack. Ten percent of three is .3, which rounds down to 0.
So... does your third sucessful attack while still holding on to the victim cause 1 extra damage? I've never been lucky enough to find out.
Or perhaps I'm missing the point of the skill. Can anyone enlighten me as to its use and how it works?

Tangling grasp doesn't increase the amount of damage you do to a human per say...it only serves to lock onto them. By doing this, all further attempts to use CLAWS..not teeth will come with a slightly increased hit Percentage probably somewhere in the 35-45 percent success range. When you successfully lock on you will get an on screen message that reads.....you claw at "INSERT NAME HERE" gripping them by his/her blood stained jacket. or something similar to that. Then you will know that you have a hold on them. Feel free to keep attacking the human with you claws until you get another message that reads something like....."john smith wiggles out of your grasp" This can be 1 hit after the initial tangle or 20 times after...its really just a roll of the dice. The only way to increase the damage you do to a target is to buy REND FLESH which increases your claw attack to 3 damage instead of 2. I hope this helps. -HINT- I tend to favor CLAWS above teeth any day. They are just more versatile and practical, really the only time i ever use teeth is to infect my target first so that when they get revived their health still goes down until they heal themselves (really pisses humans off) Also Teeth are good for regenerating lost health with the digestion skill if you are low HP. These will both cost you 200XP total and the easiest way to get XP is with all the maxed claw skills. Do you see where i am going with this?

I get it. Thanks! I used to use teeth more often since every time I used claws I missed (even 15 times in a row, just my luck.) I use claws predominantly now since I read it's the more efficient at dealing damage.
Another quick question. Does the %30 after bite and %50 indicate chance of of successful attack? Those numbers seem extremely optomisitic to what I usually actually get.
Edit: like, for instance, I just attacked a humam 16 times with claws and only got two hits.

When you are just starting out, its definitely better to bite, until you get Rend Flesh and the 15% increase to hit with claws.... until that time use your bite and save your claws for barricades.
