Extinction had the X:00 supporter template on thier page, and this tactic still seems to get mentioned in Extinction's guides and such.
As the "inventor" of this concept, I've been curious about this. I never really achieved much in the way of results with the idea, and I'm wondering if and how Extinction has used it to positive effect.

I've tried it several times, but never sniffed out anyone at all. I guess it's mainly a critical mass problem. As you note on the tactic page, there are also several incentives for not simply leaving your group as a given X:00 time, 24-7. I'm especially sensitive to this, so perhaps if I were more persistent about it, I'd have connected with someone by now.
X:00 is a brilliant idea on paper, but otherwise I don't believe in zombies putting anything in their Group: field. My compadres and I call it the magic principle of STFU.
Maybe I overdo it, but I treasure every scrap of intel in UD. I try to sniff out the group, the allies, the connect times, etc. of every character that hassles me. Anything to get an advantage, and probably most importantly, predict their behaviour. How much AP can they muster? Where do they nest, and what are their travel costs? What are they saying about me? Do they cheat? How?
Flip that around. Every time I kill I guy, I'm unavoidably advertising something. How much am I giving away?

Yeh v cool idea, hard to put into mass practice though. Extinction has X:00 in its Boot Camp - Basic Training and I'm also interested to see how it goes. What sort of timings have you tried? I've tried it several times, but never sniffed out anyone at all. I guess it's mainly a critical mass problem. I'd say critical mass and a skills problem ... GMT can be confusing, which is why I put the GMT button in the Battle Control. There are definitely patterns of play here in UD, mainly centred around US morning, noon, arvo and evening times. It's just a matter of recognizing them, converting to GMT and tightening the target coordination. This kind of gameplay is quite common in other games like America's Army for instance, has to be for real time 1st person mil sims, but it's built into their 3d gui. With UD we just need the tools and the skills to meetup... and the incentive. Maybe that's why you haven't hooked up with many other Zombies? I'm the opposite, I reckon communications is one of the biggest obstacles to Zombie coordination, so that means enabling profiles in the field and using forum posts at Central Command. Both are public though but how else are you going to coordinate the mass of Extinction players? There's also the Spec Ops panel in the EBC which is secure email comms, not a mass medium but more for those of us who might get into the command and control scenarios and not want the DHPD and others listening in. It has a much smaller audience then but it will hopefully become the right audience ie dedicated Extinction leaders. Yeh same, and armies will stand or fall on the quality and security of their intel, just ask the British in WW2 how much Enigma helped them. But how do you pass that intel on so that it can be effective in group coordination? Much of it would have to be public for a mass audience and some of it for command eyes only. Maybe you could head up the Extinction Intelligence Agency? I'd second the nomination to Supreme Command

Honestly, My only successful use of X:00 was on the Mall Tour at Strickling, where I used copious amounts of Death Rattling to recruit people for a 0:00 strike team. It worked well enough there- 0:00 is still on the stats page, and a few of the strikes went of decently well. Then again, in that situation, you could pretty much just gesture at the barricades and get 5 people to join you. The drawback was that the timing on X:00 strikes is usually pretty loose, because the users don;t communicate directly, even though (in theory) they could use gestures and rattles to make sure they all are ready to strike. Its just not the "sure thing" you get with a metagame strike group, and hence a bit frustrating.

Got profiles to ID both of you? I haven't come across either of you in PV. Is Bunter still squatted? And yeh, X:00 is awesome so long as people turn up. I meet up with OShea and some others on the Taccon irc chat and in-game field phone to crack open and raid buildings at 1600 GMT. It works nicely cos we all share the AP load breaking the barricades then do one survivor at a time. If you can take them down to 12hp they get dragged and you can move to the next wounded, or if you've got infection you can first bite as many as possible then target the weakest. Start it off with a groan and the ferals should finish off the dragees ... Aztec style.

Stood on street with 21 others Thought it would be safer As a zombie, you don't have to worry about 'safer'. All you lose if you get killed is some AP, and that loss can be minimized with the Ankle Grab skill. It's more important to be useful in your downtime. You can do this by swaying in a ransacked building. This prevents the living from cleaning or rebarricading the building (until all zombies are removed), which in turn makes the building useless to them. It is most important to occupy NecroTech buildings, but hospitals, police stations, auto shops, and factories are all also important.
